Jack and Jill of America, Inc. was organized in 1938 in Philadelphia, Pa., by Marion Stubbs Thomas. There are two founders: Marion Stubbs Thomas and Louise Truitt Jackson.

What is Carole Robertson Memorial Day?

Carole Robertson Memorial Day is observed during the month of September to honor a Jack and Jill Teen who was killed in the 1963 church bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Memorial activities in honor of Carole Robertson can be for the entire chapter, but are strongly recommended for teen groups.

Fathers do not hold membership in Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. They support the Mothers and the organization through the Fathers’ Auxiliary Groups. Fathers' groups do not have separate checking accounts, bylaws, or officers.
